Big feelings. Big reactions. Big parenting moments.
Parenting young children can be incredibly rewarding, and incredibly challenging. When your child is having a meltdown, pushing limits, struggling with transitions, or overwhelmed by big emotions, it can be hard to know what to say or do, especially when you’re feeling overwhelmed too.
DBT for Parents of Young Children is a skills-based group for parents and caregivers of children ages 1–5 who want practical tools for navigating difficult moments while staying connected to their child.
Learn how to stay connected even when things get hard.
In this group, we’ll focus on practical skills to help you:
Regulate your own responses when emotions run high
Manage strong emotions without reacting in ways you later regret
Tolerate distress when a difficult moment cannot be fixed immediately
Communicate more effectively with your young child
Validate feelings without necessarily agreeing with behavior
Set and maintain healthy, developmentally appropriate limits
Navigate conflict and challenging behaviors with greater confidence
Support your child's developing emotional regulation skills
Helping parents understand their child’s milestones so we can meet them where they are
Parenting doesn't have to be about choosing between connection and boundaries.
You can be compassionate and hold a limit.
You can validate your child's feelings and still say no.
You can stay connected and maintain healthy boundaries.
This group will help you build the skills to do both.
Especially helpful during the holidays and other times when routines change, emotions run high, and your little one may need a little more support.
