Iman Mohamed, MSW, LCSW-A
Welcome to Hearth Counseling & Consulting
Hello, and thank you for considering Hearth Counseling & Consulting. I’m Iman Mohamed, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate. Whether you’re seeking support for yourself or looking for support for your child, reaching out for therapy is a meaningful first step. My goal is to provide a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to navigate life’s challenges.
I am passionate about supporting individuals and families from diverse cultural backgrounds, including immigrant communities. I understand the importance of feeling seen and understood within the context of your culture, identity, family, and lived experiences. I strive to provide culturally responsive care that honors each person’s unique story and recognizes the strengths and resilience that come from navigating different cultures and life experiences.
I offer therapy in English, Arabic, and Somali, allowing me to support clients in the language that feels most comfortable and meaningful to them.
Education & Professional Background
Master of Social Work: University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Licensure: Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSW-A)
Professional Experience:
I have experience across multiple levels of behavioral health care, including inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization (PHP), and intensive outpatient (IOP) settings. My clinical experience includes providing individual, family, and group therapy, as well as supporting clients and families through a variety of mental health concerns and life experiences.
I also have over three years of specialized experience supporting adolescents navigating eating disorders and recovery-focused care.
My Approach to Therapy
I approach therapy through a person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed lens, recognizing that our lives are shaped by our relationships, cultures, identities, and lived experiences. I believe meaningful healing begins within a trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel genuinely seen, heard, and respected.
My role is not to fix your problems or tell you what decisions to make, but to walk alongside you as you deepen your understanding of yourself, recognize your strengths, and move toward the life you want to create. I deeply value the role that culture, identity, language, and lived experiences play in each person’s story. I strive to create a therapeutic space where clients feel safe bringing their full selves to therapy and where their unique backgrounds and perspectives are honored.
I am especially passionate about supporting immigrant communities and individuals navigating the complexities of cultural identity, transitions, family relationships, and belonging. I believe therapy can be a space to explore these experiences while building on the resilience, strengths, and values that are already within you.
