Quin Brudney, MS, LCMHC, LIMHP

Welcome to Hearth Counseling & Consulting

I’m Quin Brudney, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. Being human can feel complicated and overwhelming at times, and needing support is completely normal. I strive to create a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where you can explore your thoughts and emotions openly, a place where you do not need to “have it all together” and where we can work collaboratively toward meaningful and lasting change.

Education & Professional Background

  • Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling – Marquette University

  • Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) – North Carolina

  • Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP) – Nebraska

  • Professional Experience:

    • I have over six years of experience working in crisis intervention, suicide prevention hotlines, addiction recovery clinics, group facilitation, community mental health, and private practice settings.

My Approach to Therapy

My work is rooted in compassionate curiosity and a deep belief in every person’s capacity for growth and healing. I view therapy as an opportunity to slow down, explore your thoughts and experiences with intention, strengthen your relationship with yourself, and create meaningful change.

I take a holistic view of wellbeing, recognizing that we are shaped by many interconnected factors, including our environment, relationships, lived experiences, and nervous system responses. Using a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and collaborative approach, I help clients reconnect with their inherent strengths and internal wisdom in order to heal, grow, and live more fully.

Therapeutic Modalities

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – Encourages acceptance of present experiences while building a life aligned with personal values.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – Focuses on identifying and modifying unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors.

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) – Builds skills in emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, mindfulness, and distress tolerance.

  • Mindfulness-Based & Somatic Practices – Encourages present-moment awareness while strengthening the mind-body connection and nervous system regulation.

  • Motivational Interviewing & Harm Reduction – Helps resolve ambivalence, build intrinsic motivation for change, and support individuals in meeting their goals without shame or judgment.

Areas of Focus

  • Anxiety & Depression – Supporting individuals experiencing overwhelming worry, sadness, emotional exhaustion, or difficulty managing daily stressors.

  • Relationships & Attachment – Better understand relationship patterns, attachment styles, communication challenges, and emotional connection.

  • Social Anxiety – Build confidence, reduce fear in social situations, and develop greater comfort in relationships and interactions.

  • Life Transitions – Guidance through major life changes, uncertainty, identity shifts, and periods of adjustment or personal growth.

  • Burnout & Stress – Support in navigating chronic stress, emotional exhaustion, overwhelm, and boundary-setting.

  • Identity & Self-Worth – Strengthen self-esteem, self-awareness, confidence, and self-compassion.

  • Women’s Issues – Support women navigating emotional well-being, relationships, identity development, and life transitions.

  • Addiction – Explore substance use, recovery, emotional coping patterns, and sustainable paths toward healing.

A Little About Me

I am a born-and-raised Midwesterner now living in Raleigh. When I’m not working, I love spending as much time outside as possible. You can usually find me walking, paddleboarding, hiking, practicing yoga, rock climbing, reading, or binge-watching a good TV show.

I believe we are all deserving of feeling seen, understood, and supported. Together, with compassion, curiosity, and likely a bit of humor, we can create real and lasting growth.
