Welcome
You don't have to navigate life's twists and turns alone
Hi there! I am Karen Capehart, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed and isolated while trying to ride the wave of life, you’re not alone. It is challenging to keep going when life feels out of control. When the world around you feels hard, there can be so much pressure to be perfect in your work or in your relationships. Our brains can fill up with overwhelming self-talk and “what ifs”. To get through the day, you may pull away from difficult family dynamics, experience tension in your spirituality, feel stuck in grief, or become disconnected from your body, which constantly needs care.
I strive to create a therapy experience that uses kindness, honesty, and humor to help establish a safe relationship that gives you the freedom to explore a new approach to life.
My Approach to Therapy
A safe space to land
My hope is that therapy feels like a safe space to land. Nothing is required of you; you can’t fail, and you don’t have to be impressive. I believe that connection is one of the most important parts of your therapy experience.
I seek to understand your world holistically, not just what’s going on in your mind, but also in your body and your environment. I utilize an integrated approach which allows me to pull from techniques that make sense for your story and what you’re looking for in therapy. Upon request, I can provide services that integrate with Christianity. All beliefs, faith, and identities are welcomed and celebrated!

A Little About Me
I’ve spent the last couple of years in the Boston area, loving the snow, ocean views, and small New England towns. My husband and I are NC natives and excited to be back in the sun! I am a hobby collector and enjoy many activities such as board games (including TTRPGs), crocheting/knitting, trying out new vegetarian recipes, reading, and practicing yoga. I believe that community is an invaluable aspect of being human and strive to live life alongside others.
I would be honored to walk alongside you as you navigate life’s twists and turns! My hope is that I can provide a safe space where we can work creatively and collaboratively.
